Unraveling the Mystery of Art's Place in Interior Design

Please join us for “Understanding the Dance Between Art and Design,” a panel discussion hosted by IIDA's Residential Forum on Wednesday, May 14. Interior designers James Rixner, Patrick Hamilton and Carrier & Co.'s Mara Miller offer their perspectives on and strategies for integrating art into their designs, whether working with an existing art collection or sourcing new acquisitions. Art is highly subjective and often requires a deeper commitment, education and understanding. Art advisor and moderator Elizabeth Sadoff asks the designers to discuss their respective challenges in engaging their clients in these aesthetic solutions--quite different from considering furniture, lighting or fabric--and subsequent solutions for incorporating art and illuminating its powerful impact on interiors.

Moderator:
Elizabeth Sadoff, Elizabeth Sadoff Art Advisory

Speakers:
Patrick Hamilton, interior designer, Patrick James Hamilton Designs
